Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (January 6, 2011) – The American Sprint Car Series Lone Star Region is set for another year of scintillating racing action throughout North Texas and the surrounding areas in 2011. And, this year, it will be with a new series sponsor as The Oil Medics has signed on as title sponsor.
The Oil Medics ASCS Lone Star Region is currently slated for 15 nights of competition at eight different tracks throughout Texas and into Oklahoma in 2011.
The Lone Star forces kick off the 2011 campaign at Kilgore’s Lone Star Speedway on March 12, with a second Lone Star Speedway event set for June 11.
From the fastest ½-mile dirt track in Texas in Kilgore it’s on to the “Fastest Lil’ Dirt Track in Texas”, Kennedale’s Cowtown Speedway on April 30. The series returns to the high-banked, ¼-mile clay oval as well on August 27.
The first of four Red River Challenge events pitting the Oil Medics ASCS Lone Star forces versus the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region is set for Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX, on May 7, with ensuing RRC events at Devil’s Bowl on June 17-18 and then an event north of the Red River at Lawton Speedway on July 16.
The series also takes to the famed Devil’s Bowl ½-mile clay oval on July 9 and July 30. The July 30 card is the second of two nights versus the ASCS Gulf South Region after a stop at Waco’s Heart O’ Texas Speedway the previous night. The series also takes to HOT on June 11.
Two weeks after the initial Devil’s Bowl stop, the series takes to Boyd Raceway in Boyd, TX, on May 20 before moving on to Texarkana’s 67 Speedway just across the Arkansas line the following night.
The series ventures west as well with an event set for Abilene Speedway on July 23.
