Inside Line Promotions – TULARE, Calif. (March 13, 2019) – Mason Daniel kicked off this week by visiting a local school on Tuesday.

Daniel showed the students his winged sprint car and answered questions during an opportunity to give back to the community where he grew up. Now the focus shifts back to the race track, specifically a pair of tracks where he has limited laps.

Daniel is slated to compete this Friday at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif., during the Silver Dollar Shootout presented by Reibes NAPA Auto Parts and Saturday at Stockton Dirt Track in Stockton, Calif., during the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown. Both races are with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.

“I actually ran a midget in Chico once and I made my sprint car debut in Stockton so it’ll be great to get back to both places,” he said. “I don’t have many laps at either track, but it will be nice to have some idea of how the track is before I roll out for hot laps.”

Daniel finished fifth during a USAC Western midget race at Silver Dollar Speedway in September 2017. His winged sprint car debut came that same season at Stockton Dirt Track.

“I ran Silver Dollar Speedway in a midget so I kind of know how the track is,” he said. “I’m excited to get back to see how it goes in the sprint car. It will help to have some familiarity with the track. And Stockton was where my first ever sprint car race was at. That is a track I compare to Midwest tracks so I think that will help me.”

Daniel competed last Saturday during a World of Outlaws show at Thunderbowl Raceway, where he made his debut following a rainout on Friday. He qualified 27th quickest before placing eighth in both a heat race and the Last Chance Showdown.

“In the beginning we weren’t that strong,” he said. “That track is known for being a rough track with a hole going into turn one. It sounds intimidating, but after running it a couple of laps it wasn’t as bad as I imagined. We just didn’t qualify where we needed. We pushed out for the heat and it was pouring down rain. Our heat was stopped for an hour and a half. We made some changes after we went back out and that helped, but it’s hard to move forward and make progress when the track is heavy because of the rain. I was more comfortable and the car felt the best in the Last Chance Showdown. It was one of those things where we didn’t qualify where we needed to so we were playing catch up all night, but we made progress and I gained confidence each time we went out.”
