Inside Line Promotions – LILLIAN, Texas (March 13, 2019) – Zane Lawrence can’t wait to be back in the seat of his family owned 360ci sprint car this weekend at Devil’s Bowl Speedway, which hosts the 46th annual ASCS Spring Nationals featuring the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour on Friday and Saturday.
“I’m excited to be back in the 360 this weekend,” he said. “I’ve had a lot of fun in the micro sprint and Bob Odom’s 305 sprint car, but I’m excited to be able to be back in the family owned car and chase a championship. Bob is still giving me the opportunity to race the 305 sprint car as well so we have a pretty busy schedule on our hands this year.”
The Spring Nationals will also be the kickoff for the revived ASCS Lone Star Region. One of Lawrence’s goals this season is to vie for the regional championship.
“I like Devil’s Bowl,” he said. “We used to race there weekly in the 305 sprint car so I have a lot of laps around that place. Hopefully we will have a pretty decent run both nights and start off the season and the chase for the championship on a high note.”
Lawrence last competed in an ASCS National Tour event at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in March 2017 when he won a B Main before charging from 18th to 10th in the main event. It earned Law-rence the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars. It also marked his most recent top 10 with the ASCS National Tour.
“It’s a confidence booster going to a track where you’ve had a good run and earned a top 10 while racing with some of the best competition in 360 winged sprint car racing,” he said. “Hope-fully we can produce a pair of strong results and record another top 10 or two this weekend.”
