Inside Line Promotions – LAS VEGAS (March 5, 2019) – Greg Wilson has an elbows-up type of race track on tap this weekend when he will visit Thunderbowl Raceway with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.
The oval in Tulare, Calif., hosts ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’ this Friday and Saturday. It’s a bullring where Wilson and his Hercules Tires, DNC Hydraulics, Ohio Logistics and Gear Off Road sponsored team scored a career-best outing in 2017.
“Racing in Tulare can be a challenge, especially when the preferred groove is up against the wall on a hooked-up track,” he said. “We’ve also seen it get really slick, which is more up our alley. Regardless of the conditions the races this weekend will give us our next opportunity to learn more about our car after the changes we made during the offseason.”
Wilson is fresh off learning throughout the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown presented by Star Nursery last Wednesday and Thursday at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas. While he didn’t achieve the results he hoped for during the World of Outlaws doubleheader, the team made headway in their effort to get a better feel on the sprint car.
“Right now our focus is on improving and learning each race,” he said. “Don’t get me wrong, we still want to have successful nights and compete for wins, but right now success isn’t determined by finishing in the top 10 as much as it is by finishing a night with a better direction from what we’ve learned.”
In other news, Wilson’s next Hercules Tires dealership visit is scheduled for March 12 at Ed Whitehead’s Tire Pros in Yuma, Ariz., from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
