RACE OF CHAMPIONS AND PARTNERS TO PROMOTE SIX EVENTS AT SPENCER SPEEDWAY AND CHEMUNG, AUGUST 3RD EVENT

The Race of Champions Modified Series will take part in the promotion of six events at Spencer Speedway in Williamson, N.Y., and once again at Chemung (N.Y.) Speedrome on Saturday, August 3rd.

Spencer will host six racing events and two practice nights during the 2019 racing season, with the promotional partner Jeff Deminck once again in steering the project. The six dates include Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series appearances on Friday, May 31; Friday, July 26 and Friday, August 30.

The May 31 event will be a tribute to the late Don Pratt featuring a 62-lap feature.

The Friday, August 30 event, which ran for the first time last season, will become the Maynard Troyer Classic with a tribute to “Pops” Leaty. The event will feature a 60-lap feature for the Modified division, with more special and particular details in regard to the event to be announced as more news becomes available.

The 1/2–mile speedplant in Williamson has a long standing tradition with Modified racing dating back to competitors like Richie Evans, Jerry Cook, Jimmy Spencer, Tony Hirschman, Troyer, Pratt and the Leaty family, led by Father Jan and his son Mike, the 2018 Race of Champions Modified Series Champion. In 2019 that tradition will once again continue.

The Sportsman and Super Stocks will highlight programs on Friday, June 28; Friday, August 9 and Friday, August 23 along with supporting the Modified based shows as well as the Four Cylinders and Late Models. Full details on the schedule will be in an upcoming release specific to all of the Spencer programs.

The Saturday, August 3rd event at Chemung, which has become a Series tradition will feature the Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series in the 75 lap Rod Spalding Classic. The Race of Champions Super Stock Series will join the program and compete in the Tribute to Ed McGuire ‘51’, honoring former Series car owner and his full-fender racing exploits. The TQ Midgets will be the third division for this show. The race will also once again play host to the Spalding Foundation for Injured Driver’s Auction.

Ticketing information for all events will be released in the near future for both events.
