Inside Line Promotions – MUSTANG, Okla. (Feb. 14, 2019) – Jack Hall plans to kick off his 2019 racing season this weekend by competing in a Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Tel-Star Technologies doubleheader hosted by Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas.

The 11-year-old is coming off a successful 2018 racing season when he finished in the top 10 in the series’ Restricted ‘A’ Class national standings.

“We’re pretty proud of what Jack was able to do last year,” said Jack’s father, David Hall. “We’re just a small budget, ‘mom-and-pop’ team. We don’t have a lot of money in our racing team, but Jack did well competing against a lot of teams that had way more money in their racing operations than us.”

The team will move from Restricted ‘A’ Class to the Stock Non-Wing division this year.

“Changing to the non-wing class for this year was Jack’s decision,” David Hall said. “We ran a few local races last year without a wing and did pretty well. Jack had two seconds and a third in features at Meeker last year, which was pretty good for hardly having any experience without a wing.

“He’s still learning how the car feels and all that, but I think he’ll do well. It’s more about the driver when you race without a wing.”

Hall noted he is confident and comfortable in his son’s driving abilities as he moves to the new division.

“He’s a good kid,” he added. “He’s a smart driver and doesn’t take unnecessary chances. He knows we don’t have a lot of money and can’t afford a lot of crashes. He’s respectful of our equipment and of the cars he races against.

“We understand that one of the benefits of having a wing is that it can provide some cushion when the car flips, but we’ve provided Jack with the best safety equipment and feel he’ll be safe in this class.”

The team has set a lofty goal for the 2019 season.

“We plan to compete in all the (NOW600) races and our ultimate goal is to finish in the top five in points,” David Hall said. “But we’d be happy with a top 10, too. We’re just looking forward to running the full (NOW600) series and also catching some local shows.”

The team will begin the season this Friday and Saturday at Superbowl Speedway.

“We’ve seen Superbowl before, but haven’t raced there,” David Hall said. “But I think it’s a track where we can do well at. It’s big, wide and smooth, and that’s the type of track that Jack likes.”
