Garland, Texas (01/18/19) by DarinShort.com. The 360C.I. NCRA Sprint Car Bandits (SCB) series is excited to announce that 82 Speedway track owners Tracy and Shelley Peters have added two additional SCB events for the 2019 season.
Each of the three Sprint Car Bandits 82 Speedway events pay $2,000 to win and $300 to start at the 1/3-mile wide, sweeping dirt track.
Track owner Tracy Peters comments: “This is going to be our first full season of operation since acquiring the speedway, and we’re super excited about our events schedule. I met with Darin Short recently and he has a proven ‘track’ record throughout the past 18 years in Texas alone, not to mention 15 years in the industry as GM of three different popular chassis companies. We have commissioned Darin to help us with event packaging, publicity, online & offline marketing and other behind-the-scenes project work. As co-founder of the Sprint Car Bandits series, Darin and the Bandits team also brings 82 Speedway and our fans a top flight 360C.I. winged sprint car program.”
Peters continues: “I really needed a replacement event for Saturday April 27th, and the Sprint Car Bandits added a date to their schedule just for us at my request. We’ll also host the Sprint Car Bandits on Saturday June 15th and Saturday September 28th. All three events will pay $2,000 to win and $300 to start. I really like the Fan Fest component to all of the Bandits events, which will give our fans the chance to see the cars and drivers right in the grandstand area an hour prior to race time.”
An updated track schedule and website are in the works and will be unveiled in about a week.
82 Speedway is located on Hwy 82 just east of Petty, Texas, which is about 15 minutes west of Paris, Texas and 25 minutes east of Bonham, Texas. It’s really easy to get to from virtually any direction, whether you are in the Metroplex, Sherman, Denision; etc.
The track is a beautiful, wide and sweeping configuration; and the modern and elevated grandstands hold a massive 3,400 spectators. More track pictures and details will be released when the track website launches soon.
109 sprint car teams from nine states competed in the Sprint Car Bandits series in 2018. There were 13 different feature winners in 16 events. Colby Estes of Mansfield, Texas garnered the most points to become series champion.
The following drivers make up the 2019 Sprint Car Bandits Fierce 15 and will be competing for added money for their support of the series: Colby Estes, Michael Day, Claud Estes III, Dalton Stevens, Scott Evans, Chance McCrary, Dale Wester, Junior Jenkins, Brad Wesp, Josh Hawkins, Casey Burkham, Steve McMackin, Will Eggimann, Mark Zoeller and Mark Huddleston. Fans can expect to see these drivers competing in 2019 Sprint Car Bandits series events, along with any eligible sprint car driver that chooses to on a night-to-night basis, just as in previous seasons. Drivers interested in the Sprint Car Bandits Fierce 15 program can contact SprintCarBandits@outlook.com for additional information.
Speaking of the Sprint Car Bandits Fan Fest, each event will feature appearances by the Fierce 15 teams, along with the ability to purchase driver and series apparel and merchandise at the Series souvenir display. The fans can meet with the Fierce 15 drivers, take selfies, get their t-shirts signed; etc. The general rule of thumb is that Sprint Car Bandits Fan Fest will be scheduled one hour previous to hot laps, lasting for 45 minutes. Then it’s off to the drivers meeting and racing.
This new value-added component has no added cost or fee due from Series tracks or its fans. The Sprint Car Bandits Fan Fest will help attract fans to their speedways earlier where tracks can showcase their souvenirs, food, beverage and attractions.
