Inside Line Promotions – MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (Feb. 4, 2019) – The Barry Butterworth Memorial is an elbows-up event that promotes passing as the fastest will start at the back of the pack.
Sprint cars, midgets and the rest of the regular classes will invade Springs Speedway in Western Springs, Auckland, New Zealand, for the ultra-thrilling race this Saturday. Racing is scheduled to begin at 5:45 p.m. locally, which is 8:45 p.m. (Pacific) on Friday.
The driver with the most preliminary points will start last in the main event and get to select whom he or she lines up next to. That person will then select the next person in line and so forth.
The event pays homage to the late Barry Butterworth, who passed away in November 1993 at the age of 54-years-old according to a website dedicated to him. His funeral was held at Springs Speedway and he was later inducted into the New Zealand Speedway Hall of Fame in 2006.
Fans unable to attend the event this weekend can watch all of the action via Speed Shift TV. A single-day pass to view the event is only $15.
