Inside Line Promotions – CARROLLTON, Mo. (Jan. 28, 2019) – Mason Daniel will make his season debut this weekend during an Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions tripleheader at Bubba Raceway Park.
It will mark his first time competing at the egg-shaped oval located in Ocala, Fla., and Daniel said he will rely heavily on crew chief and veteran sprint car driver Danny Lasoski’s experience to help speed up the learning curve.
“Last year when I came down Danny took me over there (on a day there wasn’t racing) and I walked the track,” Daniel said. “It’s unique. Luckily Danny has raced there so he’ll let me know the best lane. It’s really helpful to have him by my side. He knows how to get around these tracks. I’m trying to soak up all the knowledge he has.”
Daniel will participate in a practice session on Wednesday prior to three straight nights of action beginning on Thursday. It marks his first time ever racing with the All Stars and will offer a good opportunity to learn prior to the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series season opener the following weekend.
“Our first goal is to get up to speed with these guys,” he said. “Then we’d like to have good finishes during the month we’re down here.
“We’ve worked hard to get to this level so we’re really excited to start with the All Stars and then transition to the World of Outlaws. I think we’ll do well. We just have to get laps with those guys.”
Daniel has two career 410ci winged sprint car starts, including making the A Main during only his second-ever race with the World of Outlaws last year.
