SUNNYVALE, Texas. (December 12, 2018) Competing in Sprint Cars regional in Texas and Oklahoma since 2010, Tucker Doughty announced this week that he will take on the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com in 2019.
“It’s every kid’s goal to get to drive racecars for a living. Towards the end of last year, my parents and I sat and talked about it and we feel it’s the best way to go in order to get where I want to be. It just kind of fell together honestly,” explained Tucker on making the jump to the National Tour in 2019.
Not a stranger to traveling, Doughty treks the state of Texas almost weekly looking for races, and over the past couple of years, has started adding bigger events to his resume. That has shown the young driver where improvements were needed in both himself and his equipment.
“It takes good equipment to go out and compete and we want to do it right and be as successful as possible. Along with the equipment, we also hired Brett Scott to come to wrench the car. That was one of the more crucial parts to doing this deal is having someone with the experience of racing on the road.”
While getting cars and equipment ready for the road starting in March, Tucker will also take in some indoor racing at the Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout in January.
The 2019 season with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com begins at the Devil’s Bowl Spring Nationals on Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16. More information on the Devil’s Bowl Speedway can be found online at http://www.devilsbowl.com.
