Jamie Ball- Season Wrap Up
(White Lightning Motorsports) –

The 2010 was a season of firsts for the White Lighting Motorsports Team. This was our rookie season, moving up from outlaw dirt karts to 305 and 360 sprint cars. There were ups and downs but overall everyone involved enjoyed every second of it. The 305 sprint car is really where I would find success. I would end with two second place finishes and one third place finish to finish out the year. I was really able to be competitive a lot in the 305 class. A lot of the times I would have to start anywhere from 8th to 12th starting position so I was really able to gain valuable experience passing cars and racing through lap traffic. In the 305 class I would end up 7th overall, running a limited schedule. After the year was over I felt extremely comfortable in the 305 and cannot wait for next season when I will make a run at the 2011 Knoxville Raceway 305 Championship.
The 360 class proved to be tougher as the level of competition and the speeds are quite different from the 305 class. I was able to use the confidence and track time I would get from the 305 to help get better each night in the 360. The highlight of the 360 season would have to be 360 Nationals. I was able to time 6th quick on my qualifying night. Then go on to finish 2nd in the C-Main on Saturday night, transferring to the B-Main to finish 21st overall. The season would end with a 15th overall in Knoxville Raceway 360 class points. Also I would earn the 2010 Knoxville Raceway Rookie of the Year in the 360 class. That is a true honor to receive that award; my dad received the 1998 Rookie of the Year in the 360 class. To be able to achieve some of the same success my dad has really means a lot to me. Our season was really good. We learned a lot about me as a driver, the car and the crew. We are going to take what we have learned and build upon it this winter. We will be coming back in 2011 geared up and ready to go once again.
