The 23rd Annual Short Track Nationals in Little Rock, AR is one of the most anticipated races of the season. Not to mention one of the biggest, drawing drivers from all over the United States to battle for the $15,000 purse. Last year the ASCS I-30 Short Track Nationals had over 100 entered drivers competing to make it into Saturdays A-main event.
Last year, 2009, at I-30 Speedway you may have seen Haley Arnold wheeling her No. 165 sprinter with the big dogs of ASCS during the Short Track Nationals. This was Haley’s first appearance at the Short Track Nationals. It was a great experience for Haley and her crew. This year, coming into the STN, Haley won’t be alone. It’s double trouble this year with not only Haley behind the wheel, but Miranda as well! Together Haley and Miranda make up team Arnold Motorsports. Haley and Miranda are currently the only sister team in the winged sprint car world. “We feel that being a sister racing team gives us an advantage. Even though we are still “Rookies” people take a certain interest to our team”, says Haley.
The Short Track Nationals are set to begin October 27—which is a practice night to prepare for the two nights of qualifying. Haley & Miranda Arnold Motorsports will be leaving their hometown of Sedalia, MO Tuesday the 26th to head for Little Rock, AR. The girls plan on practicing Wednesday to get the cars tuned up for the qualifying nights. Haley will be qualifying on Thursday the 28th the first night of qualifying for the 3 day event. Miranda is set to qualify Friday the 29th, day two of the two qualifying nights.
