Belleville, IL – As the season winds down, the point battle amongst the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League and POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League is hot as can be. Heading into the Ron Milton Fall Classic at Jacksonville Speedway on Friday, October 12th, the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League looks to race alongside the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars.
Tucker Klaasmeyer holds a 570-point margin over Ryan Robinson with a handful of races left to decide the 2018 POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League champion. A Ron Milton Fall Classic win for Klaasmeyer would give him an even greater probability of sealing the deal. Karter Sarff, the leading candidate for POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League Rookie of the Year appears to be well on his way to claiming the rookie honors as he heads to one of the closest tracks for the Mason City, Illinois native.
Saturday, October 13th the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League joins up with the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League as the duo heads to Belle-Clair Speedway for the 14th Annual Charlene Meents Memorial.
During her years with MARA, Charlene Meents was instrumental in keeping midget racing alive in the Midwest, especially the St. Louis area. She played an important role in maintaining MARA’s presence in some of the country’s largest and most notable races, including the Belleville Nationals and the Chili Bowl Nationals. Though she passed away in 2003, Meents is remembered by many as a friendly face who welcomed them to each MARA event. Along with her friends and family, the Charlene Meents Memorial keeps her racing legacy alive.
In POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League competition, Harley Hollan holds a mere 40-point margin over Austin Schaeffer. With only two shows left for the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League, a good finish, or a win at the Meents could be the deciding factor for the championship.
