Inside Line Promotions – CLAY, N.Y. (Oct. 3, 2018) – Joe Trenca is hopeful familiar surroundings will have a positive impact this Saturday when the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series visits one of his home tracks.
The Mucci Motorsports driver will face ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’ at Fulton Speedway in Fulton, N.Y., which is a short drive from his shop.
“We always enjoy racing with the World of Outlaws,” he said. “They are the best in the sport and for good reason. Any time you get to run with the Outlaws you learn and improve as a driver so I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
Trenca produced a pair of top-10 finishes at the track last season, highlighted by a season high of seventh. This Saturday will mark his first visit of the year.
“Even though Fulton Speedway is close for us we don’t have a ton of laps there,” he said. “We haven’t raced there this year and usually only get there once or twice a season. However, we have had a couple of good runs there so that does give us confidence.”
Trenca’s career-best World of Outlaws result is a 13th-place finish.
“The first goal is to make the A Main and then we’ll go from there,” he said. “Being in the main event is a great opportunity to learn because you’ve got 30 laps of battling with the best in the sport. I think we are capable of battling for a top 10 and setting a new career-best finish, but it will take a strong qualifying performance to open the night and then great decisions the remainder of the night to be in a position to accomplish that.”
