Lonnie Wheatley, WINCHESTER, Ind. (September 26, 2018) – One racer took in all four legs of Saturday’s 37th Annual “Four Crown Nationals” at Rossburg, Ohio’s Eldora Speedway.
And that racer posted top-ten finishes in all four divisions over the course of the night.
Broken Arrow, OK, native Brady Bacon put together of his best finish of the evening aboard the Brady Bacon Racing No. 99 winged 410-ci Sprint Car with a seventh-place run in All Star Circuit of Champions competition.
Bacon drove his non-wing USAC National Sprint Car No. 99 entry to a tenth-place finish while also piloting the Klatt Enterprises No. 6 USAC Silver Crown mount to eighth and the FMR No. 76m Midget to tenth.
The focus is back on the USAC National Sprint Car scene this weekend with a trio of events beginning with the conclusion of the Kokomo Smackdown on Thursday before moving on to Gas City I-69 Speedway on Friday and then the Lawrenceburg Speedway’s “Fall Nationals” on Saturday night.
Bacon began Saturday’s winged All Star Circuit of Champions portion of the “Four Crown Nationals” with a heat race win and then a third-place Dash finish to earn the fifth starting position for the feature. From there, he went on to post his best finish of the night in seventh.
Jumping into the FMR No. 76m USAC Midget, Bacon timed in third-quick on the night and crossed the stripe tenth after starting the feature in fourth.
Back to the traditional variety of Sprint Car action in the Amsoil USAC National Sprint Car portion of the event, Bacon timed in ninth and then raced to second consecutive tenth-place finish of the night after starting ninth.
Bacon’s “Four Crown Nationals” was rounded out in the Klatt Enterprise No. 6 USAC Silver Crown mount. After timing in fourth-quick to earn a second row starting position, Bacon finished out the 50-lapper in eighth.
Locked into Thursday’s Kokomo Smackdown “King of the Hill” pole shuffle, Bacon enters this weekend’s USAC National Sprint Car triple ranked fourth in points with four series triumphs among his nine overall wins on the season.
