Junction Motor Speedway McCool Junction, Nebraska (September 8, 2018)—A cool evening in south-central Nebraska brought 16 cars to the very fast speedway south of York, Nebraska. Two heat races and the top 8 in passing points from those heats made up the 8 lap dash to determine the first 8 starting positions in the A main.
Jack Dover, who has been unstoppable as of late, took home $14,000 last weekend in an unsanctioned show at Jackson Motorplex. He extended his points lead over Jason Martin with one event left on the schedule with tonight’s win. Jack virtually has the points championship locked up as long something catastrophic doesn't happen at the last race here in a few weeks! The win tonight just pushes him that much closer in securing his 3rd championship in 4 years!
“We had an awesome car and the nose wing fell down and I think it made the car a little better and that just shows how good we are rolling right now. We have had a 1st, 3rd, 1st, and 1st place finishes in the last 4 races as we head to Eagle Raceway tomorrow to run our 305. I just want to thank Backlund Plumbing, Carpetland, Liquid Trucking, Certified Transmission, SSS Motorsports, Speedway Racing Engines and Spike Chassis. I have a great crew, Dave, Alex, Ben and everyone who makes this possible.”
Jack Dover and Shayle Bade made up the front row of the 25 lap A feature. Dover jetted himself to the lead on the start of the race with Made following suit. Jason Martin and Cody Ledger ran third and fourth. Only 5 laps in, Dover ran into lap traffic as he stretched his lead over Bade by 8 cars. On lap 7, Shayle Bade jumped the cushion slightly that allowed Jason Martin to get within 3 cars of Bade but a few laps later she extended her 2nd place lead to 8 cars over Martin. Half way through, Dover still lead over Bade followed by Jason Martin, Cody Ledger and Ryan Roberts. With 5 togo, Martin was able to take over the 2nd spot of Bade. The caution flew with 2 laps left as Nathan Mills jumped the cushion in turn 3 slamming his car into the turn 4 wall leaving a green, white, checker finish.
Dover brought the field to the green flag with 2 laps togo. All it took was a great restart for Dover as was able to hold on and take the win! Jason Martin finished second followed by, Ryan Roberts, Cody Ledger and Shayle Bade.
