Lonnie Wheatley, NIXA, Mo. (August 31, 2018) – Kyle Bellm is quite familiar with Eldon, Missouri’s Lake Ozark Speedway.
In fact, the last time the Nixa, Missouri-based No. 14k Sprint Car team hit the track at Lake Ozark Speedway it resulted in Bellm’s third trip to victory lane of the 2018 season.
Bellm hopes to carry that into this weekend’s $10,000-to-win Lake Ozark Speedway 360 Nationals that takes place on Saturday and Sunday.
“This is a big race this weekend, we’re definitely looking forward to it,” the driver of the Greenworks Nursery/Landscapes Awarded Sprint Car says.
Bellm goes into this weekend after capturing a seventh-place finish aboard the Christian County Collision Repair/Bybee Lawn Care Sprint Car in last Saturday’s ASCS Red River vs. ASCS Warrior Region event at Topeka’s Heartland Motorsports Park.
Missing the redraw by one position after a third-place heat race finish, Bellm worked his way from ninth to capture seventh aboard the PPG Automotive Finishes/Colorvision entry atop a one-lane surface.
“It locked down early in the night, we missed the redraw by one and rode around in the rubber,” Bellm recalls. “I wish we could have been one position better to get in the redraw and maybe caught a good number, we just made the most of what we had to work with.”
With his 15th overall top-ten of the year in 25 starts aboard the VP Racing Fuels/Schure Built Suspensions/Schaeffers Racing Oil machine in the books, Bellm has his eye on a potential big payday this weekend at Lake Ozark Speedway where he has already collected a handful of wins over the past two seasons.
2018 Quick Stats: 25 races, 3 wins, 11 top-fives, 15 top-tens.
