Jerry Hardy was the 1970 Badger Midget Rookie of the Year, finishing 18th in points. Hardy left the competitive scene a few years later. For over thirty-years he attended races at Angell Park and in the Midwest. He rejoined the sport in 2005. The next year he formed Jerryatric Motorsports and was fielding a two-car team, sometimes three at some events.
In 2008 Mike Hess driving his car won the Badger Midget Title, aided by four victories. Two years later Hess claimed the teams second Badger Championship, with Hardy going to victory lane five times, with Hess and Aussie Matt Smith behind the wheel. Others who drove for Hardy include: David Gough, Dean and Courtney Erfurth, Ray Seach to name a few. Hardy was also a veteran of the Vietnam War passed away on Aug. 9 at the age of 73. A moment of silence was held for Hardy during opening ceremonies at the Aug. 12 Angell Park Speedway Badger event . Hardy was laid to rest at Jensen Cemetery in Edgerton, Wi. on Aug. 16.
