Bryan Hulbert – TULSA, Okla. (August 20, 2018) Saturday night racing resumes on August 25 with the “Fast Five Weekly Series” in action at Creek County Speedway.
Located between Sapulpa and Kellyville, the quarter-mile oval will feature Champ Sprints, A-Mods, Factory Stocks, Dwarf Cars/Mod 600’s, and Mini Stocks. Going into this Saturday night, seven nights of weekly racing remain for teams to gather as many points as they can towards their 2018 championship standings.
Travis Ashwood holds a slim 41 point advantage over Danny Smith in Champ Sprint competition with Bailey Hughes not far behind in third. Jimmy Taylor and Donovan Wise make up the top-five. Another close battle is underway in Factory Stocks as Jimmy Owen holds a 46 point lead over Austin McSperitt with Bobby Wolfe only 64 markers away from the top spot. Calvin Lewis and Billy Newton hold the top five.
Chad Davis with a 171 point buffer sits comfortably atop the A-Mod standings over Joshua Tyre, Kendall Shultz, Ho Dean, and James Esmond. Dwarf Car action has Paul York in the lead by 166 over Jason Miles and the Mini Stocks has closed to only 77 points with Leroy Berger trying to hold off Michael Longacre.
Saturday, August 25, 2018. Gates open at 5:00 P.M with Hot Laps at 7:30 P.M. Races get underway at 8:00 P.M. (CT). Admission prices are $10 for adults. Youth 11-14 get in for $6 and kids 10 and under get into the grandstands for free. Pits are $30 (under 10 years of age is $15).
