CG Motorsports- Glenpool, Ok. (Aug 16, 2018) After a long stretch of racing during the first of August, Matt Covington and the team will tackle this weekend in hopes of getting back on track and building momentum for this last stretch of the 2018 season with the ASCS National Tour.

Covington came off a rough patch of disappointing results both weeks at Knoxville Raceway, ending with a blown motor in the C-main on Saturday of the 410 Nationals.

“It’s definitely been a rough and frustrating month of August so far,” stated Covington. “We struggled after a deep draw and qualifying time to start off the 360 Nationals. We were ok, but, with the loss of points for qualifying, we played catch up most of the 360 Nationals. We also struggled to find the balance in the car. We finally got it going late in the week during the 410 Nationals but we were too little, too late. Then we capped it off with a hurt motor in the C-main on Saturday. Hopefully we got the bad luck and car issues behind us so we can start getting our consistency and speed back. Our goal this weekend is to get back to form and at the same level of performance we were at before Knoxville to finish out remaining national tour races.”
