Inside Line Promotions – LIMA, Ohio (Aug. 15, 2018) – Shawn Dancer recently recorded a top-five result at Montpelier Motor Speedway, where he will return this weekend.
Dancer has a great taste in his month about the oval in Montpelier, Ind., where he charged from 16th to a fourth-place finish after opening the night on July 28 with a tough start.
“We didn’t qualify well at all,” he said. “We were the 28th car out of 30 so that wasn’t a great start.”
Dancer’s qualifying effort relegated him to start seventh in a heat race. He was able to cut some good laps and he passed three cars to finish fourth.
“Between the qualifying and the half-decent heat race, we had to start 16th in the feature,” he said. “The car felt really good and I was confident in its performance. We passed a lot of cars and made our way up to fourth place. It felt good to make our way up to the front.”
Dancer most recently raced at Limaland Motorsports Park last Friday.
“It was the last race at Limaland for the season and it was more of an invitational race,” he said. “There was only an A Main, which we drew an eight for our starting spot.”
Dancer was running decently until he jumped the cushion and tipped over, ending his night earlier than expected.
Next up on his schedule will be Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, this Friday before a return trip to Montpelier Motor Speedway on Saturday.
“I’m looking forward to getting back to Montpelier this weekend,” Dancer said. “Last time we were there we ran really well. We’re taking the 410ci sprint car this weekend and I think running the 360 there (a couple of weeks ago) will give us an advantage.”
