Robert Ballou Surges From Seventh To Score Third Win of Season in Convincing Fashion

PETERSEN MEDIA: Robert Ballou had a very strong weekend in Indiana that saw him run second on Saturday night at Tri-State Speedway before an impressive win on Sunday night at the Terre Haute Action Track.

“We kind of had an eventful Sunday night but it all worked out and were able to grab another feature event win,” Robert Ballou said. “I have felt like we have been heading the right direction, and after pretty much a disastrous Sprint Week it is nice to have a couple of good nights.”

Checking in at THAT on Sunday night, issues in time trials would see Ballou and crew working feverishly under the hood of the Dickinson Farms/Lucas Oil Products/Abreu Vineyards entry hoping to find an issue before heat races.

Able to diagnose and fix what ailed them, the Rocklin, CA native would grid the field from 10th in his heat race. Getting off to a tough start that saw a couple of close calls in turn two, ‘The Mad Man’ would settle in and put on a bit of a show as he would work forward and earn a third place finish.

After his night started in a bit of a hole, Ballou would line up in the fourth row for the 25 lap feature event. After quite the performance at THAT during Indiana Sprint Week, Ballou proved to be up for another impressive performance as he wasted no time working his way forward.

Making quick work of the field, Ballou would find himself out front and pulling away. Hitting his marks lap after lap, Ballou would go on to win from seventh by over four seconds, marking his third win of the 2018 season.

Also in action on Saturday night, Ballou would check in at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN where he would time his machine in third fastest in his time trial group before finishing second in heat race competition.

Moving into the feature event, the California native turned Indiana resident would line up in the third row. When the racing action came to life, Ballou worked his way forward and found himself in the second position as he chased after CJ Leary.

Holding down second, Ballou would take the checkered flag in the runner up position.

“To be on the podium on both nights is really where we need to be,” Ballou said. “We continuing to improve and hopefully we can pick up a couple more wins before the year is over. Huge thanks to everyone that continues to support our race team and allow us to get out here weekly.”

Robert Ballou would like to thank Dickinson Farms, Lucas Oil Products, Abreu Vineyards, Deaton’s Waterfront Service, Rossie Feed and Grain, Unique Breedz, Suburban Subaru, Jamie Davidson Scrap Metal, Twister-X, Hinchman Indy, Don Ott Racing Engines, Manvel Motorsports, Blakesley Auto, Olson Custom Design, Konnected Clothing, Hooker Harness, Indy Race Parts, Hoosier Tire, Schoenfeld Headers, ISC Racers Tape, Chalk Racing Products, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Saldana Racing Products, and Bell Helmets for their support.
