As our regular season begins to wrap up the competition heats up. Point spreads across all 6 IMCA weekly racing classes remain within 5 points between 1st and 2nd. Since no championship is clinched for any class, drivers will be giving it all they got to claim the coveted championship title for their class. Also, racing is the Mod Lites in their first appearance at Park Jefferson Speedway in the 2018 season. The IMCA Sprint Cars are off for the night for the Knoxville Nationals.
In addition to the great racing in store for Season Championship night, we will also be hosting a meet and greet with the drivers. Starting at 4:30pm, you will get a chance to meet the driver inside the machine of some of your favorite local racers. We will also have a couple dunk tanks on hand where kids and adults can test out their arm.
Why stop there? We are also having a kid rides event after hot laps where the IMCA Hobby Stock and J&J Fitting Stock Cars will take kids along for a lap around the track to experience what the racers feel every week. It is a ride that every kid will want to go on!
There can’t possibly be any more happening…Just Kidding. We are also having some of your favorite local racers throw out some candy in our candy toss for the kids at intermission. So, bring some deep pockets as there is a lot of candy to be thrown out thanks to a little help from H. Van Voorst Concrete out of Canton, SD who generously sponsored more candy to make it even better.
I know the kids don’t want to hear it, but summer is almost over, and school is about to begin. What better way to go in on the first day than with a brand-new school loadout. We are giving away 4 backpacks full of supplies, so parents can cross off most of their back to school checklist. We are also giving a boy and a girl bike away in a drawing for the kids.
Don’t worry parents and adults we didn’t forget about you! Throughout the night there will be multiple giveaways of merchandise, race night tickets, and concession stand coupons so keep your tickets and bring some luck to win some free stuff. Maybe the drivers will even toss out some merchandise during intermission.
The Meet and Greet event starts at 4:30pm and is free to attend. Gates open at 5:00pm and hot laps begin at 6:20 with racing to follow. Ticket prices for this great night of racing are as follows: Adults: $12, Seniors 70+: $5, Children 6-16: $2, and Children 5 and under are free. For more information call 712-202-5540.
