Inside Line Promotions – GREENWOOD, Neb. (July 31, 2018) – Jack Dover earned his 12th podium of the season last Friday and his performance was one of his most impressive of the season.

Dover had to charge from the back after being unable to finish a heat race to open the night at I-80 Speedway.

“I jumped the start and knocked the nose wing down,” he said. “Typically I can run with the nose wing down, but for some reason it wanted to spin me out when I went into the corner. We pulled in early and fixed it for the A Main.”

Dover started 17th in the 25-lap Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints A Main.

“We picked them off one by one,” he said. “Everybody was running the top. I was really good on the bottom in turns one and two. I was getting a really good drive off the corner and had good speed in turns three and four up top. We always do well there and we came from last to first last year so I knew we were capable of doing it. I think we could have done it again if we had a yellow, but it went green to checkered. It got too spread out for first and second.”

Dover powered from 17th to a third-place result, which garnered the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

He will take that momentum into the 28th annual 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank this Thursday through Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.

“We’ve got good momentum and a good car and motor,” Dover said. “We just need luck to go our way. We have to make sure everything is 100 percent correct on the car. I think we’re pretty close as far as our setup goes. We ran fourth there a couple of weeks ago and we had a couple of adjustments to make. You have to have the right mindset as well.”
