26 Promotions – Albuquerque, NM – (July 25, 2018) – For the first time since 2016, Spencer Hill will strap into a Non-Wing Sprint Car as he teams up with SEH Motorsports to run the J&J Auto Racing 11w this weekend at Show Low Speedway Park.
“I’m super excited to get back behind the wheel of a Sprint Car, and I’m honored to do it for Truman West and SEH Motorsports,” said Hill. “It has been a long time since I’ve wheeled a full-size Sprint, but I’m hoping that it’s a smooth transition.”
This weekend will also mark the return of SEH Motorsports, who return to Sprint Car racing after deciding to step away in October to focus on the health of car owner Truman West.
“SEH Motorsports is ecstatic to have a car again,” said Sydnee Hamblin. “After a successful first run with us our first choice for our comeback season was Spencer, we’re excited to have him back with us.”
Hill and SEH are hoping to recapture some of the magic from their first stint when Hill secured a podium finish with the USAC Southwest Series.
“Running for Truman again means the world to me,” said Hill. “He gave me my first real opportunity at driving a Sprint Car, and it is going to be a great homecoming for all of us.”
Friday night will be the first time Hill has logged laps in a Sprint Car at Show Low Speedway Park, but he is hoping some of the experience he has in a Micro Sprint might translate over.
“I’ve only run Micro Sprints at Show Low, and it’s a tricky track for sure,” explained Hill. “Usually it’s tough to relate anything from the Micro to the full-size car, but I think being familiar to the track will help quite a bit.”
In what is sure to be an emotional weekend for Hill and the SEH Motorsports team as they celebrate West’s return to Sprint Car racing, West is just excited to be back doing what he loves.
“It just feels so good to be back working on race cars again,” said Truman West.
