Elma, WA—September 7, 2010—Rain has forced the cancellation of the World of Outlaws event at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington on Tuesday night. The race was originally scheduled for Monday and was pushed back a day by rain. It will not be rescheduled.
The World of Outlaws return to action on Thursday, September 9 with the 57th Annual Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California. The three-day event, which has a new format this season in which every driver will compete on all three nights, again will pay $50,000 to win the 40-lap finale on Saturday night.
Entering the Gold Cup, Joey Saldana holds a slim six-point lead over 20-time series champion Steve Kinser in the World of Outlaws championship standings, with Jason Meyers third, only 25 markers back, with 13 races remaining in 2010.
