Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 23, 2018) – Kerry Madsen will lead Big Game Motorsports into a trio of Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions races this weekend.
The Muddy backed team is slated to compete on Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn.; on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa; and on Sunday at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa.
“I’m looking forward to getting back to Jackson after the Outlaws show there last month,” he said. “I think we’ll be pretty good and we can make more improvements. It’ll be good to get back to Knoxville and we’ve done well at 34 Raceway in the past. To have All Star races so close to home is something you look forward to.”
Madsen said the team has steadily been improving and now is a good time to be hitting on all cylinders.
“I feel like we’re getting to where we need to be,” he said. “We have a lot of confidence in the car. I’m excited for three All Star races in a row.”
Madsen raced at Knoxville Raceway last Saturday. He qualified second quickest and rallied from sixth to second place in a heat race. That lined him up on the outside of the second row for the 20-lap A Main.
“We were really good in qualifying and the heat race,” he said. “On the start of the feature the outside row wasn’t the place to be so we ran fourth. There was a heavy cushion, but there was zero grip anywhere else. We worked on Terry McCarl for a long time. I finally got him for third and to make a long story, he hit the inside berm and came straight across and hit me. I bounced a couple of times and we went over.”
Madsen was battling for third place when the incident with only three laps remaining resulted in a DNF. He was credited with a 17th-place result.
