Lee Grosz took the lead on lap six of Tuesday’s feature event and sailed to his second Property Solutions of America Midwest Sprint Touring Series victory of 2018. Grosz collected $2400 for the victory at Rapid Speedway’s 3rd Annual Randy Droescher Memorial.
Tommy Barber took the initial lead of the 24 lap feature. The Brandon, South Dakota, driver paced the field until Grosz made the winning move entering turn one. The race changed dramatically for Barber with just three laps to go. Barber and eight-starting Jack Dover were racing for second when the both started to spin in turn four. They each did a 360 but Barber stalled with Dover continue.
Dover would challenge for the lead on the restart but couldn’t make a pass on Grosz. Eric Lutz finished third ahead of Ned Powers and Cody Ledger.
Up next for MSTS is a Friday night date at Jackson Motorplex for the $5,000 to win Barb Wieskus Memorial.
