Thiel continues a top 5 top 10 streak

The STM crew brought the #64 Complete Water Inc Sprintcar to the Manitowoc County Speedway Friday August 27th. Scotty started on the pole of the heat and never looked back and took the checkered flag honors. Thiel would then start 3rd for the night's 30 lap A-main event. At the start of the A-main, Scotty clinched the lead coming out of turn number two of the first lap. A caution on lap three bunched the field back up after a car spun. Scotty brought the field back to green flag action but lost the lead the next lap in turn number three. A few cautions later, Thiel had fell back several positions but still was managing a top 5 run. With two laps to go, Scotty had a hard time keeping the car in control in turns three and four, and felt that something was wrong with the car. Keeping everything in tacked, Thiel finished the race in the 6th position. After the race was completed, the crew immediately checked to see what the problem was, and discoverd that the right front hub was very loose. When they later took it apart, it appeared that the bearing broke and was making the hub flop around.

The crew worked all day Saturday and prepared the car for the night's racing action at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds. Thiel started 8th in his heat race event. After taking the green, Scotty charged through the field and found himself in the forth position at the checkered flag. With that finish and how the invert worked, it set Thiel to start on the Pole of the 25 lap A-main. The guys had to do a little more work on the car after the heat race, as the jacob's ladder was bent, which hold the rear end in place. It was all fixed and they sent Scotty out on the track. After taking the green for the night's A-main event, Thiel took the early lead. Leading almost 8 laps in, Scotty was passed and held his 3rd place running spot until the next restart. Thiel restarted on the bottom of the track and lost a few spots trying to get his car back to the top side and also around the lap traffic. After a hard faught run, Thiel managed to finish in the 5th position.

The crew was happy with the performance this weekend, especially with the situation the car incountered. STM would like to thank all of their sponsors: Complete Water Inc, Scott Thiel Builders, Advanced Compressor Technology, Rhey Graphics, Muehlbergs Fire Solutions, Fat Boys BBQ, Premier Floors, Kaemmer Foods, Moyle Racing, Haven Bar & Grill, Douglas Wheel Technology, and Tri-Flow Lubricants.

This coming weekend, STM will be traveling to the North Central Speedway in Brainerd, MN with the UMSS sprint car series. This is the same track and series Scotty won with back on July 24th.
