Inside Line Promotions – HARTFORD, Ohio (July 12, 2018) – Joe Trenca highlighted last weekend with his fourth top-10 finish of the season.

The Mucci Motorsports driver kicked off the tripleheader weekend, when he raced at three tracks in three states during a three-day period, on Thursday at Land of Legends Raceway in Canandaigua, N.Y., with the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints.

“Thursday went really good,” he said. “We timed quickest in our group and placed third in our heat to make the feature redraw.”

Trenca drew the No. 6 to start the main event on the outside of the third row.

“We had a restart and got into an incident about 10 laps in,” he said. “We fell back to ninth. We were able to rebound back to sixth. I used the whole track. We were rolling wherever. It was one of the slickest tracks I’ve ever seen. We were right there with guys who are great in the slick. We were pretty happy with our outing on such a slick track.”

Trenca’s sixth-place finish gave the team momentum entering a 410ci winged sprint car show at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., on Friday. Trenca finished where he started – second – in a heat race before capping the night with a 12th-place result in the A Main.

“Our car was really, really tight,” he said. “The track didn’t change at all, which is unlike that place. Restarts killed me. I was way too tight. Once I got rolling I could handle it, but we had about four restarts and that’s where I lost positions. However, it was good to get some laps in the 410. We are getting more comfortable in the car.”

The weekend wrapped up on Saturday at Sharon Speedway during the Lou Blaney Memorial with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.

“We had motor problems in time trials,” he said. “The car was good. We just didn’t have enough motor. It seemed like it was down a couple of cylinders, but it turned out to be electrical stuff. We don’t have motor problems very often. It was one of those things that happens time to time.”

Trenca qualified seventh quickest in his group and finished seventh in a heat race. The team then called it a night early.

“It was definitely a long weekend, but it was cool,” he said. “We enjoyed the traveling and racing different tracks. We’re having fun doing that and will hopefully do that more in the future.”

Trenca will take the next two weekends off before resuming action July 27-28 at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, N.Y., for the Summer Nationals and July 29 at Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, N.Y., with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.
