Inside Line Promotions – HIGHLANDS, Texas (July 12, 2018) – Channin Tankersley enters this Saturday’s ASCS Gulf South Region event at Golden Triangle Raceway Park in search of his second triumph this season.
Tankersley guided the Old School Racing entry to a victory during the ASCS Gulf South Region season opener at Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, Texas, in May. He has continued to run well during three subsequent regional races to take over the lead in the championship standings.
“Hopefully we can win on Saturday,” he said. “We have a bunch of wins at the track throughout the years so we have the confidence going in there that we can get the job done.”
Since winning the season opener, Tankersley has produced results of fourth, eighth and second, respectively.
“Any time you can run up front consistently it’s a confidence booster,” he said. “We’ve had a decent year for as little as we’ve raced this year.”
The team hopes to travel more throughout this summer as the ASCS Gulf South Region is scheduled to have only one race between this weekend’s show and September.
“We want to hit the road and race more,” Tankersley said. “The rain has cancelled a lot of races this year and there’s not much on the schedule the rest of this summer so hopefully that will allow us to travel a bit.”
