Inside Line Promotions – BELGRADE, Mont. (July 10, 2018) – Seth Bergman was consistent last weekend during the Grizzly Nationals at Gallatin Speedway.
He won a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com both nights of the two-day event to earn a spot into the feature redraw. Unfortunately, he pulled a high number each night out.
“Sometimes the draw works in your favor and sometimes it doesn’t,” he said. “I feel like we got favorable draws for the heat races both nights, but the feature redraw certainly didn’t go our way.”
Bergman powered from fourth to win a heat race during Friday’s opening night. He then pulled the third-highest number – six – in the feature redraw to start the A Main on the outside of the third row.
“The track took rubber just a few laps in so everyone was in survival mode at that point,” he said. “We moved into the fourth-and-final lock-in position (to Saturday’s A Main) when a couple of guys popped tires late. However, we had a tire going down and so we faded on that last restart.”
Bergman hung on to a sixth-place finish.
The event concluded on Saturday with Bergman winning a heat race from the outside of the front row. This time he pulled the highest number – eight – during the feature redraw.
Bergman battled inside the top 10 throughout the race before ending ninth, which was his 27th top 10 of the season and 15th during ASCS National Tour competition.
He resumes ASCS National Tour action on Wednesday at Gillette Thunder Speedway in Gillette, Wyo.
