Inside Line Promotions – FINDLAY, Ohio (July 10, 2018) – Caleb Helms has one major goal for this weekend when he invades Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, during the 35th annual Kings Royal.
“I want to make the Kings Royal,” he said. “I don’t think I’ve ever made the A Main on the final night. That would be a great accomplishment.”
Helms has come close to advancing into the main event during the final night of the $50,000-to-win World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series event at the half-mile oval.
“A couple of years ago we were racing to win a heat race, which would have put us on the front row of the Kings Royal, until we had a mechanical problem,” he said. “We have a car capable of doing it. We just have to have everything click.”
The Ohio native said he always looks forward to one of the crown jewel events in sprint car racing that is close to home.
“It’s awesome to race at the Kings Royal,” he said. “Eldora is one of the greatest tracks in the world. It’s home for us so it’s always special. I always look forward to racing that event.”
