Saturday night's racing brought STM to the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, WI. Scotty started his heat race on the outside from row. After taking the green flag, Thiel never looked back and captured the heat race victory. With the invert and passing point structure, Thiel clinched the Pole postition for the nights 25 lap A-Main. It was a slow start for the Sprint A-main as a few flips happened within the first lap, bringing the field back to a complete restart two times. Thiel managed to take the lead on both of the restarts but was passed on the first completed lap. Another caution came out on lap 2. Scotty lost another position on the restart but managed to run in the third position in the next series of green flag laps. As the field was approaching lap traffic, racing began to get really close and made for hard passing. Thiel was blocked in by a few lap cars and fell back several spots. After only completing 15 laps in the A-main event, time was a factor and it was called a complete show. Scotty was sitting in the 9th position at the time and was not real happy with the performance. " The brakes in the car were messed up in the beginning of the race, couldn't get the car set otherwise it would get too sideways... they were locking up for a bit and then in the lap traffic, the car got pretty tight and was hard to get around." Thiel said afterwards.
The next stop for STM was Sunday at the Angell Park Speedway in Sun Praire, WI. Scotty was last out for qualifying which was the 23rd car to go and he pulled out a 13.921 time which was good enough for 14th place. That qualifying lap set Thiel to start outside pole again for the heat race. After taking the green, Scotty took the lead going into turn one and never looked back and took the checkerd flag. Even though Thiel won the heat race the A-main was set by the qualifying time and the invert rolled. The invert was 10 and Scotty would start 11th in the Cornfest 30 A-main event. After three attempts on getting the race to green, Scotty began to charge forward. A series of red flags took place and time was a factor again. On the last restart, Thiel found himself sitting in the 5th position and finished there as the track was forced to call the race due to time restraints.
The STM guys were very pleased on the performance Sunday night and even with the trouble on Saturday night, they still managed to pull off a top 10 and a top 5 for the weekend.
