A trip to The Highbanks Hustle at Southern Illinois Speedway in Marion, IL has always been on Jake's bucket list of tracks and events to attend. To take the WIN during the 6th Annual Highbanks Hustle prelim night out of over 130 outlaw winged 600cc micros felt amazing. The Yoshimura powered 7p Farrell Frameworks chassis loved running the top on this awesome track after starting in the 4th position. In an event based on passing points in a heat and qualifier, Jake pulled it off by gaining 4 passing points in the heat and taking the win in the qualifier. This win really felt good to give his sponsors the recognition they deserve. Having Mychrontom, Guhl Motors, and CSI Shocks join Jake in the Winner Circle meant a lot. Many thanks to K&N Filters, Lucas Oil, Yoshimura Engines, Guhl Motors, Simpson Racing Products, Farrell Frameworks, Joes Racing Products, Off Axis, Motion Media Wraps, Mychrontom, CSI Shocks and Buchanan Auto Electric.
By taking the win on Friday night, Jake and the top six secured their spot in the main event on Saturday night. Jake started in the 3rd position but unfortunately while passing for the lead got his frame stuck on a rut to spin himself out. Having to restart in the back of the field to make it up to about 7th again he would spin out. After battling once again, Jake would take 9th at the checkered flag in a heartbreaker of a race. Racing with the talent on that track felt great. Definitely a race to add to next years schedule!
