Inside Line Promotions – WEST PLAINS, Mo. (June 25, 2018) – Marshall Skinner fell one position short of a clean sweep after finishing second in the ASCS Mid-South Region and ASCS Warrior Region co-sanctioned event last Saturday night at Legit Speedway Park.

“I felt I had the fastest car on the race track all night long,” said Skinner, who started sixth in the main event after winning his heat race from third. “But the inversion got me and I had to start sixth in the feature. It’s pretty tough to win when you start sixth and it’s hammer-down racing on a momentum track, even if you have a fast car. I was able to pass the second-place car on the white-flag lap, but it was only a 25-lap race.

“I’m used to running 30-lap races and I could’ve used the extra five laps since there weren’t any yellows. Five more laps would’ve helped because we were getting into traffic. I ended up finishing about three car lengths behind at the checkered.”

Skinner was the Hard Charger Award winner for passing the most cars during the race.

“It’s a crying shame to have this good of a race car and not win,” he said. “But it was a good night. We just haven’t been able to get a break with the inversion lately, but that should change.”

Skinner has an ambitious schedule for this week with four consecutive nights of ASCS Mid-South Region racing planned for Thursday through Sunday. The action begins at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., on Thursday before shifting to Crowley’s Ridge Raceway in Paragould, Ark., on Friday. I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., hosts a race on Saturday and Diamond Park Speedway in Murfreesboro, Ark., wraps up the weekend with a race on Sunday.

“We’re hoping it goes well,” he said. “It will actually be five nights of racing in six days when you include next Tuesday. We’ll see how everything goes.”
