Mother Nature and Friday the 13th played games all day and night at the Manitowoc County Speedway. Rain was in the area all night long and fell a few times which postponed several races. Scotty started on the pole is his heat race event and never looked back. In the ten lap scramble, Thiel managed to pull off almost a whole straightaway lead. With that finish, it would set Scotty to be outside front row of the 30 lap A-main event. At the green, Thiel got a really good jump and hammered down taking the lead going into turn one. Scotty began to start lapping cars already on lap four and was on a mission. A couple cautions and one red flag later, set time back and brought the rain closer. With 9 laps complete, the field was ready to go back to green flag action, until the rain decided to pour down on the track. There was no way of saving the track in time, and officals decided to call the show. Since there was only 9 laps complete, it was considered a no show race. Scotty needed only 6 more laps for the race to be half way through, and he would of recorded win number two for the books this year.
After a disapointing Friday night, the crew prepared the car for Saturday nights action at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, WI. Scotty drew a 22 pill which set him to start outside row number two for the heat race event. The track was still pretty tacky, and made for difficult passing. Thiel managed to hold on to his forth place position all race long, and capture a 16th place starting spot in the A-main event. Not much passing was occuring all night long, and it was very difficult to move forward in the A-main. Scotty slowly picked off a few cars and managed to pull off an 11th place finish.
