Sprint Cars & Fireworks Friday Night

Bloomington Speedway will light up the summer night sky with sprint car racing and a huge Independence Day fireworks show on Friday. Although the Tom White & Company Real Estate non-wing 410 sprint cars are a late addition, they bring the thunder and lightning to the racing program. The Green Earth Recycling & Composting RaceSaver sprint cars, the AJ Bowlen Realtor with REMAX Acclaimed Properties UMP Modifieds, and the Brandeis Machinery Super Stocks fill out a busy night of racing.

The gigantic fireworks extravaganza at the Speedway will open the curtain on a thrilling week of Independence Day celebrations throughout southern Indiana. The track’s fireworks program is renowned for its bombastic brilliance and this year’s event is fully expected to build on that reputation. While the on-track competition will follow the normal Friday-night schedule, the fireworks will take place during an intermission after it becomes dark.

It is also B-97 Night, as Bloomington Speedway will host the popular rock station’s staff, families and friends. Look for special announcements during the week and live broadcasts from the track on Friday.

The general admission grandstand will open at 5:30, with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:30. Fireworks will light off after dark, however a specific time will not be known. General admission is $15 and kids 12 and under are free with an adult. The pit gate will open at 4:30 and pit passes are $30.
