The Martin Motorsport Sprint Car team traveled to Highlands, TX Saturday night to compete with the ASCS Gulf South Region. Caleb Martin pulled the pill to start 4th in the first heat. Martin was in the lead by turn 2 and pulled away winning the heat. "The car was real good. Better than I have felt it in a long time."
"We lined up 3rd in the feature and I knew we had a shot. There were two fast guys on the front row so I wanted to get a good start and be there to battle. I actually got into 2nd briefly but went to the top too soon. Tim Courmier has been a huge help in getting this car handling. I let him do his deal on the car and it was much better. If we keep like this we should see some wins!" Martin finished 3rd as they diced through lap traffic.
"We consider it a successful night. We want to get a good balance in the car and get comfortable. We have a new car, new Crew Chief, so basically a new program. When we get the car a good baseline we can start fine tuning with shocks and springs. Thanks to Corning and Hidden Oaks Events for the partnership."
