Inside Line Promotions – ORRVILLE, Ohio (June 20, 2018) – The Swindell Speed Lab backed duo of Kevin Swindell and Spencer Bayston rank fifth in the Ohio Sprint Speedweek standings at the midpoint of the nine-race series.

The team has scored a trio of top-10 finishes in the first five Speedweek races and only trail the leader by 52 points.

“We’ve qualified well and got in the dash all but one night,” Swindell said. “We’ve been one of the more consistent cars.”

Ohio Sprint Speedweek began last Friday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, where Bayston qualified second quickest overall out of more than 50 competitors. He set quick time in his group and advanced from fourth to third place in a heat race to earn a spot into a dash. A fifth-place result in the dash lined him up ninth for the A Main.

“We missed it a bit at Attica, but got out of there with a top 10,” Swindell said.

The team scored a seventh-place result before venturing to Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, on Saturday. Bayston timed in fourth quickest in his group before he won both a heat race and a dash to start the main event on the front row. Unfortunately, a spin relegated him to a 21st-place result.

Bayston was second quick again on Sunday at Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, Ohio, where 49 drivers competed. He ended fourth in a heat race and second in a dash before spending much of the main event battling for a podium before the track took rubber. Bayston capped the night with a sixth-place finish.

Ohio Sprint Speedweek Round 4 was Monday at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio. Bayston was quickest in his group and a fourth-place outing in a heat race earned a spot into the main event. He then powered from 17th to 12th in the feature.

Tuesday’s show at Sharon Speedway was the midpoint of Speedweek. Once again, Bayston qualified second quickest overall out of 48 drivers. He posted fourth-place results in a heat race and a dash before wrapping up the night with a seventh-place run in the main event.

“Qualifying well is a big help in any series,” he said. “We’ve been able to qualify in the top two a lot of these nights and put ourselves in a dash. We’ve been very consistent. Just to be fast every night and qualify well is a huge help. We’ve got the hard part out of the way. Now it’s about having everything fall into place.

“It’s a bummer not to be battling for wins, but when you look through the pit area and see the cars that are here, it’s a good feeling to know we’re consistently fast.”

The remaining Ohio Sprint Speedweek races are Wednesday at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio; Thursday at Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio; Friday at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio; and Saturday at Atomic Speedway.
