Bloomington Speedway Honors the Military Friday Night

Friday is Military Appreciation Night at Bloomington Speedway, sponsored by the Army Recruiting Command and hosted by their office in Bloomington. We will have displays by the service branches and several special events. All active and reserve military in uniform will be admitted Free. All veterans will receive $5 off general admission, when they provide a military ID card or DD-214 or other similar paperwork at the gates.

The racing program features the Tom White & Company Real Estate-sponsored non-wing sprint cars, the AJ Bowlen Realtor ReMax Acclaimed Properties-sponsored modifieds, and Bloomington’s Hornets. With last Friday’s thrilling sprint car victor, Jordan Kinser closed the gap that Jeff Bland had built in the championship battle, and they are currently separated by only 8 points. Jacoby Hines and Jeff Deckard find themselves tied for the point lead in the modifieds, and Jeremy Smith holds an 18 point advantage over Chad Taylor.

The gates will open at 5:30, with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:30. The pit gate will open at 4:30. General admission is just $15, with kids 12 and under always admitted free with an adult. Pit admission is $30.
