Inside Line Promotions – AVON, Ind. (June 12, 2018) – Kevin Swindell and the Swindell Speed Lab backed team have been hard at work rebuilding a pair of sprint cars in preparation for the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions Ohio Sprint Speedweek, which begins this weekend.

The spectacle features nine consecutive nights of competition in Ohio. Swindell and driver Spencer Bayston are hoping for a clean week and a half after a rough start to the season.

“We haven’t had the best start,” Bayston said. “Kevin has had the speed in the car and we’ve been really fast. The beginning of the season isn’t what we expected it to be, but the hard part is out of the way. We’ve taken these last couple of weeks off to regroup and rebuild for nine straight nights. It’s hopefully a fresh start.”

Speedweek begins on Friday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica. It’s a track where the team was victorious last season and has a lot of experience. From there Eldora Speedway near Rossburg hosts a race on Saturday and the weekend will conclude on Sunday at Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield.

Next week’s races are June 18 at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville; June 19 at Sharon Speedway in Hartford; June 20 at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe; June 21 at Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville; June 22 at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima; and June 23 at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe.

“Getting to run night after night after night is a good thing,” Bayston said. “If you have a bad night you can regroup, go back, wash and maintenance and try again the next night. But if you have something go wrong it can be very stressful and tiring. I’m hoping I can do my job and make things go smooth on the track. That makes the week more enjoyable.”

Swindell said the goals are to be determined.

“I feel like we should go win multiple races, but with the way things have been I’d be happy with a smooth week,” he said. “You just go back to worrying about the fact that cars are good. All you can do is make the most out of your opportunities. It’s about capitalizing on those things.”

The team won an Ohio Sprint Speedweek race last year at Muskingum County Speedway.
