Inside Line Promotions – SIX NATIONS, Ontario, Canada (June 5, 2018) – Alex Hill is excited to tackle the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by Sawblade.com Speedweek after a rainy forecast kept her from the race track last weekend.

“We didn’t go to Knoxville as we had planned because the weather forecast said there was a 90 percent chance of rain,” she said. “That’s not worth it when it takes us about 12 to 15 hours to get there.”

Hill is eager to embark on a lengthy road trip with her racing team beginning this week.

“I’m planning to travel on the road with them for about five or six weeks,” she said. “I’m really looking forward to it. It’s nice to be done with school for the summer and not have to race around my school schedule.”

Speedweek will present a bit of a challenge to Hill since Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, is the only track of the six ovals on the Speedweek schedule where she’s previously raced.

“It will be a lot of new tracks for me,” she said. “But I have a great crew and I think they’ve been to all the tracks so our cars should be good. Plus, we have Sam (Hafertepe Jr.) as a teammate. He knows most of those tracks pretty well.”

Hill and the rest of the ASCS National Tour competitors will kick off Speedweek this Friday at West Texas Raceway in Lubbock, Texas, before venturing to Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas, on Saturday.

The remaining Speedweek races are June 12 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway; June 13 at Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla.; June 14 at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla.; and June 16 at Salina Speedway in Salina, Kan.
