Park Jefferson is back in action this Saturday showcasing the first of two appearances for the Nebraska Mod Lites at Park Jeff which are presented by Classic Hits 106 of Yankton and ESPN 1570 of Vermillion. These 1,325 lb. miniature mods are powered by 4 cylinder motorcycle engines that can race down the straightaways at over 100mph. Scott Naggatz in the 54N machine came out of the shoot with a full head of steam as he remains undefeated taking victory lane every night. Will he be able to keep up the momentum and hold off Taylor Pollock and Doug Pollock as they are close behind and giving some fierce competition.
The racing competition will be heating up as we enter the mid season of the 2018 Park Jefferson race schedule. With point standings starting to form and racers setting in their standings positions will ramp up the competitive mentality in their pursuit for the coveted Season Championship title. Classes throughout are remaining close in the standings giving many a good chance at moving their way up to 1st.
On hand for the Saturday show will be the Artworks Graphics A mods with Jay Noteboom in the 7n machine coming out of the gates faster than a speeding bullet as he has sweeped the series so far with no signs of slowing down. Drivers staying close behind trying to keep Noteboom off the podium and claim the first feature win of their own for the season are Todd Boulware, Jim Thies, and the former track champion Bob Moore.
Also appearing will be the J&J Fitting Stock Cars. Competition is intense as Jason Ward and Ryan Harris are neck and neck battling for a chance to pull away from the pack. Ryan Harris is trailing by 1 point and looking to take the chance to pass Ward in the standings. Don’t count out the rest of the pack though as the point difference from first to sixth is only 13 points.
With Cody Thompson on a tear in the Sport Modified class winning three out of the four feature races, others are in pursuit to take his momentum and take the feature win for themselves. Rusty Montagne claiming the other feature win along with Karl Brewer and Kole Nordquist are close behind Thompson providing relentless competition night after night.
Competition among the Z98 Hobby Stocks and Fox 620 Sport Compacts is cutthroat to say the least. The point spread for these two classes is making it anybody’s game as the gap for Compacts from first to seventh is only 12 points with the top four racers within 6 points. Another group of great competitive racers are the hobbies with the gap between first and seventh only being 13 points. This deadlock competitive mentality is providing great racing for the fans and the racers.
