Inside Line Promotions – WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (May 23, 2018) – Brandon Hanks recorded a top-10 finish last Saturday during the Hooker Hood Classic.

Hanks opened the event by drawing a high pill draw to start near the back of a heat race at Riverside International Speedway.

“That draw for the heat race put us behind,” he said. “If you didn’t get them on the start you pretty much didn’t get them.”

Hanks advanced from seventh to sixth place during the heat race. That lined him up on the inside of the sixth row for the 40-lap A Main.

“I wasn’t bad, but I wasn’t better than the guys in front of me,” he said. “I could watch them and they wouldn’t get any further away. We were about the same every lap. I tried the top a couple of times and I think I lost more ground doing that.”

Hanks ended with an eighth-place result, which was his fifth top 10 of the season.

“We’re still struggling to find a little bit of speed, but we keep clicking away at it and we’ll get there,” he said.

Hanks is scheduled to make his debut at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., which hosts an ASCS Warrior Region doubleheader on Friday and Saturday.

“I always enjoy going to new tracks and I’ve heard Lake Ozark Speedway can be pretty racy so I’m excited about this weekend,” he said. “Hopefully we can keep moving forward and gaining speed.”
