Inside Line Promotions – NEW RICHMOND, Wis. (May 23, 2018) – Robbie Price posted his first podium finish of the season last weekend to cap an Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series doubleheader.

“We had a great weekend,” he said. “It was a morale booster so that was good.”

Price and BDS Motorsports kicked off the weekend on Friday at Princeton Speedway in Princeton, Minn., during the 16th annual Billy Anderson Memorial. A fourth-place result in a heat race lined him up on the inside of the fifth row for the main event.

“Princeton was pretty cool,” he said. “It was one lane and dirty up top in the heat race so it was tough to pass. It rubbered up during the wingless main so I’m not sure how it would have been for our main. Unfortunately, we got rained out right before the A Main.”

Series and track officials based the finishes off the starting lineup, which credited Price with a ninth-place outing.

The weekend concluded on Saturday at Cedar Lake Speedway, where Price maneuvered from third to win a heat race before he won four rounds during the Wing of the Hill Challenge to start the A Main on the outside of the front row.

“Cedar Lake was a fun track,” he said. “We had a really good heat race and then I moved from fifth to second in the Wing of the Hill deal.

“They had mini mods around the bottom before our main event. It blew the track away on the bottom so it rubbered up. On the start I went to the top and followed Thomas Kennedy. Skylar Gee got by both of us on the bottom. I got in line on the bottom. I got by Skylar and then he got back by me. We did that a few times back and forth.”

Price crossed the finish line in third to garner his best result of the season.

He and BDS Motorsports are scheduled to race this Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., with the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints and Midwest Sprint Touring Series; Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa; and Sunday at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, with the Sprint Invaders.
