Inside Line Promotions – PUYALLUP, Wash. (May 22, 2018) – Trey Starks has a trio of races on tap this weekend after Mother Nature wreaked havoc last week.
All four of the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series events that Starks and Gobrecht Motorsports were going to tackle were rained out. The team has another busy weekend upcoming and is hopeful the weather cooperates.
“This rain has been tough on everybody this year,” he said. “It’s crazy to have four races in seven days with all four races raining out. Hopefully the weather is better this weekend.”
Starks will join the World of Outlaws this Friday at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., during the Outlaw Showdown before tackling the Bob Weikert Memorial on Saturday and Sunday at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa.
“Charlotte is a fun place to go to,” he said. “We’ve done pretty good there in a 360 and a 410. We timed in well and had some good runs at the World Finals. That track races like a half mile, but it’s similar to a 3/8-mile size. It’s a great facility we only get to run a couple of times a year. We always enjoy going there.”
Starks has one 360ci winged sprint car win at The Dirt Track at Charlotte and he’s seeking his first ever triumph at Port Royal Speedway.
“We were so close to winning the Bob Weikert Memorial last year and came up a couple of laps short,” he said.
Starks finished a career-best second at the half-mile oval during the event finale last year.
