Inside Line Promotions – OWASSO, Okla. (May 22, 2018) – The 3rd annual Midget Round Up will get underway this Friday with multiple community events.
There will be five car shows around the Garden City, Kan., area during the day prior to a pre-race party hosted by Jax Sports Grille at 6 p.m. The two-day race featuring midgets and micro sprints is Saturday and Sunday at nearby Airport Raceway.
“We’re grateful to have great partners involved to make this a community event,” TBJ Promotions Founder Tony Bruce Jr. said. “It’s always a good time to engage with the local community via car shows and a pre-race party. It will allow people to meet some of the drivers and see cars up close before the racing begins on Saturday.”
The Midget Round Up has developed each of the last two years and a great car count is expected this weekend when POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget Series and POWRi Lucas Oil RMMRA Series will compete along with the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass. Stock non-wing and winged ‘A’ class micro sprints are on the program each night with the finale paying $1,000-to-win each class.
“The racing has been great the last two years and we’re anticipating another great car count this year,” Bruce Jr. said. “I encourage the locals and travelers to check us out in the community on Friday as well as come to the races on Saturday and Sunday. It should be a great weekend.”
The front gates are scheduled to open at 4 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. each night.
Tickets are $20 for adults on Saturday and $15 on Sunday. Children ages 12-years-old and younger get in free both nights.
There is limited reserved spectator parking at the track available. To purchase a spot, call 620-287-3695.
