Inside Line Promotions – DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (May 21, 2018) – The Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass will venture to Airport Raceway this weekend for the first time in series history.
The bullring in Garden City, Kan., is the second track in Kansas and the 18th different oval the series has visited. The Stock Non-Wing and Winged ‘A’ Class divisions will compete on Saturday and Sunday during the 3rd annual Midget Round Up, which pays the winner of each class $1,000 on Sunday.
Daison Pursley holds a slim 17-point advantage over Daniel Shaffer in the Stock Non-Wing championship standings entering the weekend. Chris Cochran is only 20 points out of the lead with Ryan Timms 27 points behind Pursley and Trey Burke 29 points out of the top spot.
Cochran is the only multiple race winner this season in the division. Pursley, Chase Randall, Morgan Roan and Jason Tyer have also visited Victory Lane.
Jim Woods has a five-point lead over Harley Hollan in the Winged ‘A’ Class championship standings. Frank Flud is 22 points behind Woods with Pursley 35 points out of the lead. Garth Kasiner and Gunner Bowden are tied for fifth – 46 points behind Woods.
Hollan and Flud each have a pair of victories with Chase Brewer and Pursley each winning once.
The gates open at 4 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. both nights. The pill draw is from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. both nights.
Tickets are $20 for adults on Saturday and $15 on Sunday. Children ages 12-years-old and younger get in free both nights.
