Inside Line Promotions – OWASSO, Okla. (May 17, 2018) – The Midget Round Up took a huge leap forward last year and anticipation is high that growth will continue during the third edition of the marquee event.

The midget car count nearly doubled last year when 40 drivers competed during the two-day event at Airport Raceway in Garden City, Kan. TBJ Promotions Founder Tony Bruce Jr. believes there will be a similar car count during this year’s event on May 26-27.

“A great group of POWRi West and POWRi RMMRA Series racers battled for the win last year and it sounds like we’ll have another top-notch crop of competitors invading the Midget Round Up last this month,” he said.

POWRi RMMRA Series Director Keith Rauch, who is a veteran driver also racing both nights, noted more than 20 racers from his group will compete, including: Bab Harr, Brent Reese, Robert Dalby, Troy Simpson, Lance Bennett, Blaze Bennett, Glenn Waterland, Chris Sheil, Tony Rossi, Carson Garrett, Ashley Oerter, Timothy Snelling, Michael Snelling, Ryan Oerter, Paul Babich, Zac Taylor, Zach Merritt, Mark Hamilton, Olivia Bennett, Dustin Weiland, Patrick Bourke, Greg Schaefer and Jesse Fernandez.

“Incredible,” Rauch said of the event. “This is one race everyone looks forward to. (Tony Bruce Jr.) does an incredible job.”

Rauch is the defending series champion and one of the top POWRi RMMRA Series competitors.

“We used to run in Garden City years ago for two, two-day shows,” he said. “Years ago we ran a couple of seconds. I’ve never been able to pull off a win.”

Rauch placed third and sixth, respectively, during the doubleheader last season.

In addition to the midgets, the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass stock non-wing and winged ‘A’ class micro sprints will also compete both nights. The finale pays $1,000-to-win each class.

The front gates are scheduled to open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m. each night.

There is limited reserved spectator parking at the track available. To purchase a spot, call 620-287-3695.

TBJ Promotions would like to thank the Finney County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Burtis Motor Company, Mid-America Millwright, The Tunnel Car Wash, Johnson Septic Tank Services, Jax Sports Grille, Driven Midwest and Maupin’s Truck Service for their continued support of the event.
